Ondou kurinuki cup Nº13 is part of limited-edition series. Sculpted from dark brown stoneware, this cup moves with a fluid, organic energy — its form turning intuitively, like something shaped by tide or wind. The surface is decorated with wild clay and sand sourced locally, sealed in a clear glaze. Depending on how the glaze settles, it shifts between depths and softness, sometimes revealing milky veils, sometimes crystalline clarity. Within it, the wild clay blooms into white, textural patterns — echoing sea foam, corals, stones, or even crystallized sugar.

Hand-carved using the Japanese kurinuki technique, each cup is slowly shaped from a single block of clay. This intuitive, sculptural process creates a textured surface and organic form, embracing beauty in imperfection – making the cup not only functional, but also a collectable art piece.

Each cup is slightly different and individually numbered within its batch of the Nº13 series, highlighting its unique place in the collection.

Note 1: The clay retains heat well, so the cup may become hot to the touch with very hot liquids. To ensure a comfortable hold, avoid filling it to the top. Take it slow, enjoy the ritual.

Note 2: Not dishwasher safe – the wild clay decoration may be damaged. Do not use harsh metal sponges for cleaning.

Product care

– Although Ondou products are intended for everyday use, they are also functional art objects and require handling with care. While the high-fired stoneware ceramic is extremely durable and can resist scratches and common damages, it is still brittle and can break when too much force is applied.
– Avoid exposing your pottery to sudden temperature changes, such as placing a cold dish in the microwave or a hot dish in cold water, as this can cause thermal shock and damage.
– Avoid using harsh metal sponges on the highly decorated surface of the cup.

Dishwasher safe?

No, the wild clay decoration may be damaged.

Microwave safe?

No
