| Product care | Although Ondou products are intended for everyday use, they are also functional art objects and require handling with care. While the high-fired stoneware ceramic is extremely durable and can resist scratches and common damages, it is still brittle and can break when too much force is applied. Avoid exposing your pottery to sudden temperature changes, such as placing a cold dish in the microwave or a hot dish in cold water, as this can cause thermal shock and damage. |
| Dishwasher safe? | Yes, but like with all hand-made objects, hand-washing is recommended. |
| Microwave safe? | Not recommended using ceramics in the microwave because clay is a highly conductive material and the piece will become very hot to the touch. |
| About handmade nature | Each item is handmade and shows the marks of this process, including intentional “imperfections.” The products pictured reflect the overall shape, size and color of the piece. However, each item is unique, with differences in glaze, texture and slight variations in size, shape and capacity. Colors may also appear differently depending on lighting conditions and your screen. Dimensional variations can be up to ~1cm, capacity ~50ml, and weight ~50g. |
Kurinuki Cup Nº9

Shipping calculated at checkout.Kurinuki Cup Nº9 is a hand-carved sculptural ceramic cup crafted using the Japanese kurinuki technique. It features minimalistic, vertical carving with a warm beige to rusty brown glaze, accented with subtle hints of blue.
Unlike other pottery techniques, kurinuki begins with a solid block of clay. Each cup is slowly carved from a single mass of stoneware, allowing the form to emerge through subtraction rather than addition. This intuitive process creates textured, sculptural surfaces and organic asymmetry, as the material and hands guide its character. No two pieces are exactly alike.
The glossy glaze highlights the elegant form, making this cup both functional drinkware and a collectible object for mindful daily use.
Each cup is individually numbered within the limited Nº9 series.
